Best compounds
for sleep

Sleep is the highest-leverage recovery tool available. These compounds go beyond basic sleep hygiene to meaningfully improve sleep architecture, deep sleep duration, and morning recovery.

Why sleep compounds matter

Growth hormone is primarily secreted during deep sleep. Improving sleep quality is not just about feeling rested — it directly impacts tissue repair, muscle growth, fat metabolism, and cognitive function the next day. The GH peptides on this list work specifically by enhancing the GH pulse that should naturally occur during deep sleep.

MK-677 is the entry point for most people

It is oral, does not require injection, and the sleep improvement is dramatic enough that most users notice it within 3-5 days. The main downside is hunger — MK-677 activates the ghrelin receptor which significantly increases appetite. If you're in a caloric deficit this becomes problematic. If you're bulking or maintaining, the hunger is a non-issue.

Dose timing matters significantly for sleep. Take MK-677 30-60 minutes before bed on a relatively empty stomach for the strongest sleep effect. Taking it in the morning shifts the GH pulse away from sleep.

Ipamorelin for people who can inject

If you're comfortable with subcutaneous injection, Ipamorelin timed before bed is arguably the cleaner option. No hunger side effect, a more physiological GH pulse, and it can be prescribed legally through TRT and longevity clinics. Many users pair it with CJC-1295 for amplified GH output — a common combination in the GH optimization community.

What about basic sleep hygiene first?

Worth stating clearly — no compound fixes the fundamentals. Consistent sleep schedule, dark and cool room, no screens before bed, and limiting alcohol are all more impactful than any compound for most people. These compounds are meaningful additions on top of good sleep hygiene, not replacements for it.
