Injection Guide

SubQ and IM injection technique, step by step. Most people find their first peptide injection is much easier than they expected.

Medical disclaimer: This guide is for informational purposes only. Consult a healthcare provider before self-injecting any compound. Never inject medications that haven't been prescribed or verified by a professional.

SubQ

Subcutaneous — into fat layer

  • Most peptides use this route
  • Shorter needle (0.5 inch)
  • Less painful — pinch of fat
  • Belly, thigh, love handles
  • Slower absorption than IM

IM

Intramuscular — into muscle

  • Used for testosterone, nandrolone, IGF-1
  • Longer needle (1-1.5 inch)
  • Slightly more uncomfortable
  • Deltoid or ventrogluteal preferred
  • Faster absorption

SubQ technique

1

Gather supplies

Insulin syringe (29-31g, 0.5in), reconstituted peptide vial, alcohol swabs, sharps container.

2

Wash your hands

Thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds. Dry completely.

3

Wipe the vial

Swab the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab. Let air dry for 10 seconds.

4

Draw the dose

Pull back the plunger to draw air equal to your dose. Insert needle into vial stopper, inject the air, then invert the vial and draw your dose slowly. Remove any air bubbles by tapping and pushing the plunger gently.

5

Pick your injection site

SubQ sites: pinch an inch of fat on your belly (2 inches from belly button), outer thigh, or love handles. Rotate sites each injection to prevent irritation.

6

Clean the site

Swab with alcohol, let dry 10 seconds. Never inject into wet skin.

7

Inject

Pinch the skin gently. Insert needle at 45-90° angle in one smooth motion. Release the pinch. Push the plunger slowly and steadily. Remove the needle at the same angle it entered.

8

Dispose

Never recap used needles. Drop directly into your sharps container. Apply light pressure with a gauze pad if needed.

IM technique

1

Gather supplies

23-25g, 1-1.5 inch needle for IM. Deltoid (shoulder) or ventrogluteal (hip) are the safest IM sites for self-injection.

2

Identify the site

Deltoid: find the V-shape of muscle below the shoulder bone. Inject in the center of this triangle. Ventroglute: place your hand on hip bone and inject in the muscle belly — one of the safest IM sites.

3

Prepare identically to SubQ

Wash hands, wipe stopper, draw dose and remove air bubbles.

4

Clean and inject

Swab site, let dry. Stretch the skin taut (don't pinch for IM). Insert needle at 90° in one smooth motion all the way to the hub. Draw back slightly — if blood enters syringe, withdraw and use a new site. Inject slowly.

5

Withdraw and dispose

Remove needle at same angle, apply gentle pressure. Dispose in sharps container immediately.
