Reconstitution
Calculator
Figure out exactly how much bacteriostatic water to add to your vial and how many units to draw for each dose.
What is reconstitution?
Peptides arrive as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder. Before injecting you need to dissolve them in bacteriostatic water. This calculator tells you exactly how much water to add and how many units to draw on your insulin syringe.
Your vial info
2ml is the most common. Less water = more concentrated = smaller injection volume.

Step-by-step instructions
- 1Wipe the rubber stopper of both your peptide vial and your BAC water vial with an alcohol swab. Let dry for 10 seconds.
- 2Draw 2ml of bacteriostatic water into a syringe.
- 3Insert the needle into the peptide vial. Inject the water slowly down the side of the vial — do NOT spray it directly onto the powder.
- 4Do not shake. Gently swirl or roll the vial between your palms until the powder is fully dissolved. This may take 1-2 minutes.
- 5Your vial now contains 2500 mcg/ml. For your 250mcg dose, draw to the 10.0 unit line on your insulin syringe.
- 6Store reconstituted vial in the refrigerator (2-8°C). Use within 28 days.
